Important agreement reached by Rapitrad CEO

An agreement between Unilingue and Ca’ Foscari University of Venice signed on May 31, 2023.

An agreement was signed yesterday in Venice between Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and the Italian Association of Language Service Providers, Unilingue, in the areas of language and cultural mediation, translation and interpretation, intercultural and multilingual communication, and technological innovation in language.

The aim of the agreement is the creation of new highly qualified and professionalizing internship and apprenticeship opportunities for male and female students, but also collaboration in the organization of cultural and educational events such as workshops, debates and seminars aimed at the student community, teaching staff and professionals in the field.

Mirko Silvestrini, CEO of Rapitrad srl – a well-known translation company in the Vicenza area – in his capacity as president of Unilingue commented on what he considers to be a very important milestone, also on a personal level: “I am very proud that this important agreement has been reached; to be present in Ca’ Foscari and to be welcomed with full honors by the Rector Tiziana Lippiello, in an authoritative role and above all different from the university student of several years ago now, has really excited and made me proud. From a professional point of view, the agreement represents the crowning of a dream, of many years dedicated with passion and dedication to the complex world of languages. I am grateful,” adds Mr. Silvestrini, “for this opportunity and for the many emotions I was able to experience on yesterday’s day; I thank all those who actively worked on the agreement and, first and foremost, the Rector and the Convention Contact of Ca’ Foscari University, Unilingue and Confindustria Servizi Innovativi.”

Collaboration between the worlds of universities and business is of strategic importance for the innovation and development of our country. The exchange of knowledge between universities and companies and the implementation of joint projects are fundamental to the attractiveness of universities, the competitiveness of companies, the employability of graduates, and the economic and social growth of territories. “I am sure that this convention will bring an effective contribution to our sector, creating a concrete interaction between universities and the world of work, while increasing employment opportunities for young people.” Mirko Silvestrini

The convention will be presented at the Unilingue 2023 Conference “Towards the Technological Singularity – What Future?” to be held in Bologna on June 9, during which the news and challenges of the translation world will be addressed with leading national and international experts in the field (download the full program of the event)
